Birth Doula Support
in Central Kentucky
Nurturing & supporting you throughout pregnancy, birth & postpartum by invoking the hygge (hue-gah) style of providing peace, comfort & well-being.
How will I benefit from a doula?
I will help you with:

Emotional Support
I am a great listener, empath and intuitive soul who wants to connect and support you during this sacred time. You will have unlimited call and text support throughout your pregnancy where you can ask me questions, share ultrasound and bump photos, update me after your appointments and I can also send you resources whether its books, podcasts or research articles.
The more honest and open you are with me, the better your experience will be.
Comfort Measures
Through physical touch, positions, massage, aromatherapy, acupressure, affirmations and ambiance.
I am very hands on and can provide counter pressure, massage, stroking your hair, or just a reassuring touch.
We try to switch positions every 30 minutes- 1 hour to keep laboring flowing and helping you dilate while baby descends. We utilize the birth ball, sway your hips, move to hands and knees, walk around, squat, empty your bladder while remaining on the toilet, otherwise known as the *dilation station*.
I have essential oils to help ground you, invigorate you, or help ease your nausea.
In my doula bag, I carry combs, a TENS unit, a roller ball, a rebozo, affirmation cards, a rice sock, a heating pad, a fan and twinkle lights.
Advocacy
I'm here to advocate for you throughout your pregnancy, labor and postpartum. I ensure you know your rights in the hospital and what you can decline. Communication is key between your birth team and medical staff to ensure confidence, respect and informed consent so that you can have a beautiful and joyful birth.

Supporting Your Partner
Dad's are one of my favorite parts of my job! I want them to feel involved and confident when supporting you. They know you best and can provide a safe space for you to be able to relax and receive a boost of oxytocin (the love hormone) as they hold you, kiss you and encourage you. I educate and encourage your partner so they are able to confidently support you, while allowing you both to be present and in tune with one another for the birth of your baby.
Provide Resources
I help take the guess work out of who to contact by sending you trustworthy resources. Whether it's for a prenatal massage, pelvic floor therapy, chiropractor, an IBCLC for lactation support, or mental health therapist.
Postpartum Transition
I provide guidance as you prepare for postpartum, as well as immediate postpartum support. We go over how to handle boundaries with family and friends, expectations for how you might be feeling mentally, emotionally and physically. A check list of items you might want to have on hand in the bathroom or for breastfeeding. And how to prevent PPA & PPD by fully resting and nourishing yourseIf. I follow through with a postpartum check in at your home with nourishing foods and a recap of your birth.
Hi! I'm Alli, your birth doula!
Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. I am a birth doula located in Richmond KY and happily travel to support mothers in the surrounding areas.
Connecting with women and supporting them throughout this sacred time has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I have always been fascinated by pregnancy and couldn't wait to become a mother. When my first birth turned into a traumatic and unplanned c-section, I felt scared and confused. After advocating to achieve a VBAC with my second birth, I was so proud of myself but also felt exhausted and alone. I wish I had hired a doula. My daughters are in school now so I decided it was time to put my passion into motion and become a doula.
My goal is to help you achieve your dream birth by listening to your dreams and fears, providing resources and education, helping you write your birth plan, practicing comfort measures and positions, going over your rights for an autonomous birth experience and holding your hand through whatever may arise.
